Perfectly packed

Packing temperature-sensitive products is a profession

When it is part of your daily routine, it is easy to overlook everything that is required to ensure a frozen or chilled product arrives at its destination under the correct conditions.

Finding the right balance between temperature preservation, packaging size, and transport costs requires experience and expertise from the packing team. Maintaining the required temperature for the intended duration is the most critical factor.

What is required for a shipment?

1- Ensuring complete and correct address details of the destination. Even a postal code error can cause delays.

2- Determining the total expected transport duration from packing to unpacking.

3- Collecting the total volume and weight of the products.

4- Selecting suitable packaging based on the product and transport duration.

5- Adjusting the amount of cooling medium to the total transport time.

6- Applying UN-labels depending on the product being shipped.

7-      Providing the correct description on the AWB label, including the mentioning of dry ice if applicable.

8-  Where necessary, including supporting customs documentation such as a commercial invoice and/or health declaration/certificate.

Kelvinbox can take care of the entire process for you!

Shipment packaging

Kelvinbox offers a wide range of insulated packaging solutions to ensure your products are shipped properly with sufficient cooling medium. In many cases, companies do not have this variety in-house. We also ensure a professional presentation of each shipment. For temperature-sensitive goods, packaging with adequate insulation is essential.

Correct labelling

When shipping with dry ice, an UN-1845 label must be applied to the outer packaging, indicating the total amount of dry ice in kilograms. If the product being shipped is a Category B biological substance, an UN-3373 label is also required on the outer packaging.

In addition, we apply clear, high-visibility labels indicating whether a shipment must remain frozen or refrigerated upon arrival.

Dry ice

We have the advantage of producing our own dry ice, always ensuring a constant and sufficient stock. We not only supply our own operations but also a wide range of external customers. We are committed to using only the required amount of dry ice per shipment and do not overuse it unnecessarily.

Dry ice sublimates directly from a solid to a gaseous state, expanding in the process, which places specific demands on packaging design and integrity.
